4/22/10 Earth Day!

Our Earth Day Project.

4/15/10 Synesthetic Photo

This photo shows fireworks. I took this picture at the Braves game and used it because when you see fireworks you think of the loud noise they make.

3/23/10 Lines

The picture of the pathway shows implied lines. People assume that they should walk on the blocks as a pathway.

The picture of the K shows about of different lines in all different directions, some are dotted and others form the diamond shape. In the K there are implied and actual lines that make up the pattern.

4/8/10 Word Clouds

This word cloud includes the lyrics of "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney. I chose this song to make a word cloud because this is the first song I listen to when classes are over at the beginning of the summer, and I am ready for summer!

4/6/10 Motion in pictures

This image shows a dancer in a jumping motion.

4/1/10 Synesthesia

This picture is showing the path of a sound wave.

3/25/10 Group Project

I think that an outside group project would be fun. Taking different things from nature to create an image of something would be very interesting and would be something that everyone on campus could enjoy.

3/30/10 Jun Kaneko

I really like the different black shapes on the ceramic piece. No two shapes are the same and it makes for a really nice piece of art.

Emphasis with placement. One elementof emphasis in this photograph.
Focal Point. One element of unity with the focal point.

2/25/10 Repetition of Form

The artist used the geometric shapes to form optical illusions in different shapes and forms. Artist is Victor Vasarely.

2/23/10 The Grid

Loose Grid. "the illusion of clarity" by Eric Taylor. Posted on April 14, 2007.

Tight Grid. "Plain Colours". Posted on Formica website in 2006.

2/18/10 Gestalt

This form of gestalt has to do with the fact that our eyes see the arrow that is not really there. The pennies are just placed in various places and it happens that they are placed in the shape of an arrow.

2/16/10 Gestalt

This image follows the Gestalt principle of proximity. The background outlines the dog and then the dogs spots are shown on top of the background.

2/11/10 Low Key Value vs High Key Value

This image of the flower is an example of high key value because the colors used to create the image are lighter colors. The image of the tiger is an example of low key value because of the dark colors used to create the image.

Unearthed by Emily Gomez 2/4/10

832267767_e8014a7e4e.jpg

This picture is unbalanced in that the mountains and rocks are only on one side of the picture but this creates a smooth well designed photograph. If the mountains were on the right side of the photograph as well the picture would look too crowded. The value in this photo is very good in that it shows it features with the shading.

Outside Art by Andy Goldsworthy 2/2/10

I think this work is interesting because of the way it circles around the landscape in the background. Also the art work looks as it is made of straight stick material but the sticks are bent to form a circle. The colors of the work blend with the colors of the ground but stand out from the background colors.

Public Art Project 1/26/10

My sculpture will be in Tattnall Park. I am putting cheese on a plate with a cheese grater to go with Cora's macaroni in the same park area.

Public Art 1/21/10

The UGA bulldogs are painted differently every year and they are all along the streets of Athens, GA. They are all very unique and a great display of public art. GO DAWGS!!

Form and Content 1/19/10

The greyhound's size was changed to make the appearance of a faster moving animal. Greyhound buses wanted to be thought of as being faster.

1/14/10: Design

Design is a plan to create something. Every form of art is always designed because it always comes from some sort of plan.
